Acer’s Predator Triton 14 AI Now Available in Additional Markets

Acer has officially launched its Predator Triton 14 AI gaming laptop in European markets. The laptop was originally unveiled at Computex 2025, the laptop is now available for order in Germany and other European countries, with a single configuration priced at €2,999 (approximately $3,342).

An Unconventional Matching

What makes the Triton 14 AI particularly noteworthy is its combination of Intel’s Core Ultra 9 288V processor (part of the Lunar Lake family) with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop GPU. This isn’t a pairing you see every day, as Lunar Lake chips were primarily designed for thin-and-light productivity laptops with integrated graphics, not gaming machines with discrete GPUs.

The Core Ultra 9 288V features four performance cores and four efficiency cores running at speeds up to 5.1GHz, with 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM soldered directly to the package. It’s paired with the RTX 5070 running at a 90W TGP plus 20W Dynamic Boost – just 10 watts shy of the official limit for the GPU. The laptop also includes a 2TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, which is nice.

However, the RTX 5070 Ti with its 12GB of VRAM would have been a nice upgrade over the standard RTX 5070’s 8GB.

Built for Portability

Where the Triton 14 AI really shines is in its dimensions. At just 0.67 inches thick and weighing 3.53 pounds, it’s one of the slimmest gaming laptops available. The 14.5-inch OLED display features a 16:10 aspect ratio, 2880 x 1800 resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate that’s Calman Verified with 100% DCI-P3 color coverage. The screen even supports touch and stylus input with 4,096 pressure levels.

Acer has also introduced some interesting cooling tech here, including graphene thermal interface material, alongside dual 6th generation AeroBlade fans and a vapor chamber. The 76Wh battery is expected to last up to seven hours, which is decent considering the hardware inside. This does not apply to gaming, obviously, but you will plug it in for that.

One standout feature is the haptic trackpad with stylus support, which helps differentiate the Triton 14 AI from the competition. There’s also a customizable per-key RGB keyboard, Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, and Wi-Fi 7 support.

Facing Stiff Competition

The 14-inch gaming laptop space has become increasingly competitive, with two major players offering similar form factors and specifications.

The Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 (2025) is the most direct competitor. It’s slightly thinner at 0.63 inches and weighs about the same at 3.46 pounds. However, Asus offers multiple GPU options including the RTX 5070 Ti and even the RTX 5080, paired with AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor. The base RTX 5070 Ti model starts at $2,499.99, making it $500 cheaper than the Triton 14 AI while offering more VRAM and a more powerful GPU. The G14 also features a similar 14-inch 3K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Then there’s the redesigned Razer Blade 14 (2025), which measures 0.62 inches thin and weighs 3.59 pounds. It maxes out at an RTX 5070 with AMD’s Ryzen AI 9 365 processor and starts at $2,299.99 for the RTX 5060 configuration. The RTX 5070 model with 32GB of RAM costs $2,699.99—still €300 less than Acer’s offering. The Blade 14 matches the Triton’s OLED display specs and has received praise for its refined aluminum chassis and improved thermal performance compared to previous generations.

The Lunar Lake Question

The choice of Intel’s Lunar Lake processor is interesting but perhaps not ideal for a gaming laptop. The Core Ultra 9 288V excels in single-threaded tasks and power efficiency but is not really designed for gaming workloads. The chip lacks hyperthreading and offers modest multi-threaded performance compared to AMD’s offerings or even Intel’s own H-series processors.

For comparison, the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 in the competing Zephyrus G14 features 12 cores and 24 threads with significantly stronger multi-core performance, while the Ryzen AI 9 365 in the Blade 14 offers 10 cores and 20 threads. Both AMD chips were actually designed with gaming in mind, unlike Lunar Lake’s efficiency-first approach.

A More Affordable Sibling

Alongside the Triton 14 AI, Acer also announced the Predator Helios Neo 14 AI. This model takes a more conventional approach with Intel’s Core Ultra 9 285H processor (an H-series chip better suited for gaming) and an RTX 5070 GPU. It features the same 14.5-inch 2.8K OLED display, up to 32GB of RAM, and 2TB of storage, but starts at a much more accessible €1,699 (approximately $1,893).

The Helios Neo 14 AI uses Acer’s 5th generation AeroBlade cooling, liquid metal thermal compound, and includes Advanced Optimus support. It’s a more traditional gaming laptop that doesn’t make the unusual Lunar Lake compromise.
