HP, or Hewlett-Packard, was founded in a Palo Alto garage as early as 1939 and entered the computer market very early when it released its first computer in 1966. Since then, HP has become one of the world’s leading computer manufacturers.

The company was also among the first ten companies to register a .com domain, in 1986. However, although printers and office PCs have been an HP specialty for decades, gaming laptops are a more recent addition to the otherwise huge assortment.

In 2006, HP acquired the high-end brand VoodooPC, which has since been used for both gaming and non-gaming machines, but never laptops. Since 2016, what remains of the Voodoo brand is mainly the tribal mask logo used in the Omen product line, which is strictly gaming-focused.
