More Details on the M11x R3 Revealed

by Berg divider image

Alienware m11xWe’ve already been through quite a few rumors about updates to Alienware’s lineup, including a brand new M18x, an M14x and last but not least an M11x R3.

The latest version of the M11x is not surprisingly expected to move to the Intel’s new Sandy Bridge platform, but details about the graphics card haven’t been forthcoming.

However, Engadget has caught scent of some details from what is supposedly a manual for the new system.

The specs from this manual includes new low-voltage Core i5 and i7 CPUs and more importantly an Nvidia GT 540M GPU, which needless to say is quite a powerful graphics card for an 11.6-inch laptop.

That’s roughly a 20% improvement in graphics performance on the GT 335M from the older models. The GT 540M is equipped with 96 shaders compared to 72 in the GT 335M and a higher core clock speed.
