$50 Off and Free Shipping – All Alienware Gaming Laptops:

Alienware M17xOne of the two offers available at the moment is valid for all Alienware laptops (and desktops) configured at $1,499 or more, which includes all models from the 14-inch M14x R2 up to the flagship 18-inch M18x. This coupon below is good for $50 off in addition to certain other rebates depending on model, including free 7-day shipping.

These offers expire 01/31/2013 or sooner.

Alienware M18x R2 – Save an Additional $50

m18xThis is currently the best offer on Alienware’s flagship, the 18-inch M18x R2, with a huge range of configuration options including dual-GPU configurations NVIDIA’s fastest mobile GPUs–the GTX 680M, currently Nvidia’s fastest mobile GPU in SLI mode. The offer is worth $50 off in addition to instant rebates as well as free shipping. You can now get your M18x with the new Ivy Bridge CPUs from Intel.

Alienware M17x R4 – Save $50

Alienware M17xHere’s the best deal on the latest version of the M17x, which is now available with the latest quad-core Intel CPUs as well one of the fastest GPUs on the planet–the GTX 680M from Nvidia or the Radeon HD 7970M. The coupon is worth $50 off plus instant rebates. The GTX 680M is currently the fastest mobile graphics card on the market, but unlike the M18x, there is only room for one GPU in the M17x R4. It does, however, have room to spare for dual hard drives or solid state drives in RAID 0, resulting in nearly twice the performance over a single-drive configuration. It is also available in a 3D version.

Alienware M14x R2 – Save $50

m14xFor a more detailed overview of the M14x, check out our comprehensive M14x review. Dell decommissioned the Alienware M15x and opted to create the fastest 14-inch laptop that money can buy instead. Now the M14x has reached the 2nd revision and can be equipped with 3nd-gen quad-core Core i7 CPUs (Ivy Bridge), but a affordable model with a dual-core Core i5 is also available. The graphics card has been updated to the brand new Nvidia GeForce GT 650M (Kepler) with either 1 GB or 2 GB of GDDR5, which is about as much graphics performance as you can fit in a 14″ laptop. This coupon is worth an extra $50 off including instant savings. It is valid on Alienware laptops configured at $1,499+.

The Current Alienware Lineup

Alienware has just updated their lineup with two brand new models, and updated the remaining two. The M18x is the flagship; an 18-inch beast configurable with factory overclocked 3nd-generation Intel Core i7 quad core processors running at up to 4.1 GHz, up to 32GB of RAM, up to triple solid state drives configured in RAID 0 (resulting in extreme storage performance). It also comes with a Full HD 1920×1080 (1080p) display and last but not least you can get it with dual high-end GPUs–up to two Nvidia GTX 675M graphics cards in SLI. All of the graphics cards for the M18x R2 are equipped with the GDDR5, the fastest type of video RAM.

The M17x in its 4th revision has been upgraded with the latest Ivy Bridge, quad-core Core i7 CPUs, and the video card options are either an Nvidia GeForce GTX 660M, a GeForce GTX 675M, AMD Radeon HD 7970M, or for the best possible gaming performance: a GeForce GTX 680M with 2GB of GDDR5. You can also equip it with up to 32 GB of RAM. Just like the M18x R2, there’s also an option for dual hard drives or SSDs in RAID o. What sets the M17x R4 apart from the rest is that it also comes in a 3D version in the form of an Nvidia 3D Vision kit and a compatible 120Hz monitor.

Alienware M14xAnother new member of the Alienware family is the 14-inch M14x R2 (read our review of the R1 here) that replaces the previous version and delivers literally unparallelled performance in this smaller form factor. The processors available for this machine are the same quad-core offerings as in its considerably larger counterparts. Gaming graphics are handled by an Nvidia GeForce GT 650M, which is much more powerful than the GT 555M and enough to deliver excellent frame rates in all current games at the laptops native 1600×900 or 1366×768 resolution.

The smallest Alienware laptop is the 11.6-inch M11x–now in its 3rd revision. Just like the M14x, the M11x is the most powerful laptop for its size. In spite of its netbook-like 11.6-inch frame it’s a highly capable gaming laptop. Several significant upgrades have also been added since the earlier iterations, including new low-voltage Core i7 or Core i5 processors. The GPU is an Nvidia GeForce GT 540M, which is usually found in 15-inch laptops or larger. You can also get it with an SSD to further boost overall system performance, as well as up to 16GB of RAM.

About Alienware

Alienware designs high-end machines only–primarily for gaming purposes, but they are sufficiently powerful to be used for any demanding task. The laptops focus on quality materials and design, and as far as the design goes they are decidedly unique. Only high-end components are used to provide an excellent audiovisual experience. Extra care is taken in the graphics department to cater to the gaming crowd that these laptop target.

High performance in combination with a distinctive design is a reason that Alienware laptops are considered as some of the best Windows PC laptops that money can buy. Alienware customers are free to configure their own gaming machines to a large extent. Therefore there is usually a great deal of difference between entry-level laptops and those configured with only top-of-the-line parts.

Alienware Area 51The company originally came into being in Miami, Florida in the mid-90s. When the company was founded, big brand names like Dell or HP did not focus on the gaming market, so this niche was what Alienware set out to conquer. As mobile technology developed, the company was first on the market to offer dedicated gaming laptops. Their distinctive style made them really eye-catching machines at a time when nearly all notebooks were non-descript and plain. Since their machines were markedly different from other big players that already existed in the market, Alienware could quickly seize a piece of the market for high-end laptops with gaming capability.

About five years ago Dell took acquired the company. Although design and development was to remain at Alienware, Dell’s established supply chain, size and marketing budget allowed the brand to take a major leap forward. After joining forces with Dell, there have been quite a few launches that have been widely well received. The current Alienware laptop lineup remains that the forefront of the market for high-end laptops. It has been said earlier that Dell’s similarly high-end XPS line would retire after the acquisition of the Alienware brand, but that still hasn’t happened. Instead, the XPS range remains somewhere in between the Inspiron and Alienware laptops in terms of performance and feature set.
